This isn't the best composed shot
and the exposure is probably off
but I really loved it because of the FOG.
I think I may love FOG as much as I love
Leaves and Benches :)
I also liked how the sun was shining on the hill
I also liked how the sun was shining on the hill
on the right...highlighting some of the
fall colors that were still around.

about 8:10 am on Saturday morning.
A "dreamy" photo, Fog adds mystery to this pretty scene.
ReplyDeleteThat photo has the feel of a painting!
ReplyDeleteI think you is a great shot. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI see nothing short in the composition here . . I like the way you have retained the mystery of the fog and the simple light of morning.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful shot! Love it!
ReplyDeleteIt's a beauty of a photo! Yes, the light on the hill and the fog add interest--there's a lot to see here!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit to my blog and for your enthusiasm. Nature makes us so rich! I love bark too, so we are kindred spirits!
It's a good photograph and there is nothing wrong with the composition for my taste. Fog often adds to a photograph as long as it is not too thick.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great shot..love the fog! I've been to the New River.
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful shot!

Very nice elements and the sun on the fall leaves gives just the right boost to the stillness.
ReplyDeleteI cannot complain about the composition of that shot, Kerri. The hillside covered in trees on the right, the water, the FOG... I like it!
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Wayne
Don't blame yourself without cause. It's the kind of picture I like!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful image.
ReplyDeleteJust great. Wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThe composition works for me. The fog adds considerably to the shot.
ReplyDeleteIf it were my photo I would open it in Photoshop, select the mountainside and sky, darken slightly and boost contrast a little while leaving the remainder of the photo unchanged.
Well the exposure is a little off but the picture is really nice and I would certainly be proud of it. Try to think of how the scene looked to your own eyes. If you saw more details in the distance than the picture shows then there is more detail in your picture that is either there or not there. Only you know that for sure.
ReplyDeleteBut it is a magnificent shot and I would be satisfied with it.
Very nice!
ReplyDeleteok...I am smitten! (Did I just use that word in a sentence?) LOL!!..I love this shot!! I was hoping it would enlarge but it wont. This is the type of shot I wanted to get this year. You captured it perfectly!
ReplyDeleteRick - I think it will enlarge now...I just resaved the photo.
ReplyDeleteA really pretty scene and a great photo!
ReplyDeletewow
ReplyDeleteoh the precious fog....i love it too :)
ReplyDeleteNo thats what I'm "tawkin bout!" This is worthy of any portfolio Kerri..
ReplyDeleteI just love your photo today!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice Thanksgiving :o)
Hi Kerri. I think this is a beautiful view, one that appeals to me a lot. The fog just adds to the whole scene.
ReplyDeleteI cannot say that I like fog because I don’t like it at all. But this photo is wonderful because of the light on the hill from the sun, because of the fall colors on the hill… the still water, because of the peace that I can feel while looking at this photo that make me relax.
ReplyDeleteI think this is beautiful and to me, I wouldn't change a thing...
ReplyDeleteAs someone who grew up in Darjeeling (where I went to boarding school) and now lives in Melbourne, there is nothing better than a good fog picture.
ReplyDeleteI posted one of fog hiding a skyscraper at http://david-mcmahon.blogspot.com/2007/03/how-do-you-hide-skyscraper.html
Yours is a beautiful shot.
I think the photo has a mystical look to it, and when you look on the water there is like two different colors on the water.
ReplyDeletewhat a majestic landscape, so suited to autumn

Oh, Kerri, this is a fantastic photograph. You've done the scene justice and then some. Thank you so much for seeing it posting it.
ReplyDeleteLove this shot Kerri. The new river has a lot of railroad history around it too, if it is the same "New River" that I am thinking of.
ReplyDeleteGreat late fall shot.
Beautiful! I love the lines and reflections, as well as the subtle colors.
ReplyDeleteWhy do we love fog so much? I am completely fogged in on the mountain this morning and I am in heaven. There is snow and ice all around so that nobody dares go out, and I couldn't be happier.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving!
That is a gorgeous shot!
ReplyDeleteMagnificent. A truly beautiful place and photo.
ReplyDeleteCompliments on shooting an enchanting photo. Love the fog and mist rising from water.
ReplyDeleteYour composition is wonderful - how could you think otherwise?! It's a breathtaking photo - I wish I could be there.
