Christmas Day 2007 - Happy Birthday!

Today is Christmas Day....however all of the socializing and
gift giving is over for us....we celebrated early.
The kids have been dropped off to
spend the Holiday with their Dad.
I miss them already :(
I was able to get out yesterday and take pictures....
and Dear Hubby and I are off to a special place to take some more today.
It is a bit chilly here this morning (32 degrees)
but it is supposed to warm up a bit.
These two shots are Nativity scenes from
"Granny's" house.
I call MY MOM Granny because that is what
my kids call her.
That is also what I called my Mom's Mom when I was little.
I wanted to post these two scenes today because this is really
what TODAY is all about.
Happy Birthday Jesus!

  3. A lovely Christmas day, it sounds like, the two of you wandering around outside looking for photo opportunities. It's quiet moments like these that can be so refreshing after the busy-ness of the preparations for the day.

  7. Lovely Christmas pictures!
It's Christmas Day here in Canada, the sky is grey, and the sun is hiding behind the clouds. It's cold and there are remnants of last weeks snowstorm still on the ground, making it a rather muddy white Christmas. But it's a lovely day, and I wish you and your family all the best, and may 2008 be a good year for you.

  20. Very nice! I have my nativity set in a recent post too but the three kings got kinda close together and it is hard to see them.

Have a wonderful time taking photos. Hope to be the "recipient of them soon via your blog! Ü

  21. You are right. Christmas should be more reverent and quiet - a time to reflect on what is special about it.

Sometimes I get disgusted with all of the hoopla and materialism attached to it.

  22. We went back to school today (as you can see, I am SO far behind in life), and in our sharing time all I heard was "I got", "I got", "I got." We turned the conversation to giving and all I heard was "I bought", "I bought." Teaching the season can't come from me (being in public school), and nobody else seems to be doing it.

Your beautiful photos also remind me of a funny story on another blog: a kitty stole and hid the Baby Jesus from the creche! Now that is bad karma!!

  23. I don't own a nativity scene yet, but I've had one in my sights for the past two years - it is absolutely beautiful! I can't wait to have one set up in my home.
