  3. These photos are really lovely. I hate the chaos of the shopping holiday, but I love celebrating the birth of Jesus. I tagged you for a meme today: http://awrungsponge.blogspot.com/2007/12/seven-things-crossed-off-my-todo-list.html

  4. I also don't like the hustle and bustle of Christmas...and shopping stresses me out BIG time!

Love the Cardinal pictures...they certainly are brilliant against the greenery and snow.

  5. Fantastic! It would make a wonderful Christmas card. . . beautiful enlarged!!!!!!!!!!

I wish I could get a closer shot at birds. I also don't have a bird feeder.

Iam also jealous of your snow. We got some Saturday for two hours but it melted when it hit the ground.

  6. we had our first *real* snow, yesterday, too. and also lots of birds at the feeder. i tried to capture a cardinal and he kept going higher in the tree. you captured yours very well.... your photo inspires me to go try again! :)

  7. The Cardinal makes a fine subject. Very nice image.
I feed the birds but get mostly small guys like finches and nuthatches. When it snows, my feeding area becomes very popular! Slackwater

I don't do any x-mas shopping anymore, no kids close by other than this yr, i have gone to gift cards, they get what they want.
And hubby and i don't buy for each other anymore as we buy what we need when we need it, need to downsize.

  12. What a great shot of a beautiful bird...it could be in Nat'l Geographic for sure! I'm with you about the stress that's thrown upon us this time of year. I hate feeling so pressured and have removed myself from it as best I can...easier since no children around.

  15. Birds of a feather flock together, or, something in that manner. I too feel the same way about this comercialised holiday. but I digress.

Pretty pic and capture of this cardinal. Take time for yourself and just watch his antics, really quite a fun way to burn tons of pics in the memory card.

  16. Glad things are going better today. I'm finding this year that I'm not as stressed about the holiday. Perhaps its because we have moved and can develope new traditions and being closer to some of our family I think helps.
I just have to remember the reason for the season.
Beautiful shot of the cardinal. Its a greeting card if I ever saw one.

  20. Excellent cardinal shots, Kerri. I think the snow really sets the bird off.

I like to videotape birds and other wildlife in the falling snow as the falling flakes seem to add a mysterious, wild, look to the shots.

Very nice capture of your state bird. We haven't seen any around here yet. Once they discover the feeder, there should be a few visitors. Birdwalking

  33. I agree with your thoughts on Christmas totally!

These are wonderful photos! I have always wanted to capture a photo of a Cardinal (my favorite bird, and NC's state bird) in the snow, but the birds and the weather haven't cooperated with me yet. Maybe one day!
