Remember my fascination with benches and leaves?
Well, I think I may also have a
fascination with posts.
These posts seem to call out to me
to take their picture.
It's funny that I can find pleasure in something
as simple as a fence post :)

  3. The fact you heard the posts calling says to me just how much you are in touch with your surroundings, and how you are in touch with your life as a whole.
    Enjoy Enjoy.

I found this SIMPLY little poem I thought you might like.

    Simple Things

    Daybreak, and here am I
    Starbound against the sky
Have you ever watched a blossom fall
Or heard a Robin call and wondered why?
For awhile, think on the simple things
How a smile can cause a heart to sing
    Daybreak is just a prayer
For the many things the day can bring
A heart full of simple things
    Nightbird, ride the wind
Find your way to where the day begins
Shadows waiting in the fading light
Have whispered their goodnight and slipped away
Hear me now, think on the simple things
How a song can cause the world to sing
Kneel now with me in prayer
For many things the day can bring
A heart full of simple things
A heart full of simple things...

    I hope you enjoyed it..

  7. Such everyday things speak to us, everyday, don't you think, Kerri? We are so familiar with them as we ordinarily look at them that it gives us a thrill of delight to see them depicted anew, in light and shadow and color and perspectve.

I almost posted wood and screen today - perhaps I'll do it tomorrow.

And thank you for the compliment about presenting Little Rock in an inviting fashion.

  16. That's what I really like about photography. It makes one appreciate things they otherwise would not notice the beauty thereof. Good job on the fences, and thanks for the comment on my blog.

  17. I like the top one best. Interesting use of depth of field in both of them. Maybe fence posts could be the start of a long-term series/project?

  18. Hi Kerri, I linked to your field posts photo in my own post today.

  23. Wooden benches and posts just seem to go together - those are interesting, moody photographs. I think you'd love the areas around here ... prairies with lots and lots of fenceposts.

  24. I like images in nature that have texture, color and line that draw the eye and the posts do the same for me here too!

  25. I can see why you love posts. Wonderful eye for the "mundane" that is beautiful.

  26. Look at it this way... you could say this country was tamed by the fence post. I don't know if that is a good thing or not, but they do play a significant role in our history. Two neat shots you got.
