A Green Heron

A Green Heron trying to hide from me.

  1. Yes, it does make a difference when enlarged.

I also know how you feel all giddy inside (my knees shake) when I see something like this and am taking or getting ready to take the picture. It doesn't have to be a larger bird, and it is often the smaller ones that get within some decent range so I know the picture will turn out that gets me, as Elvis Presley said, "All Shook Up."

  2. Didn't know there was such a creature as a 'Green Heron'. We're visited often by the 'Great Blue'.
And - I understand perfectly the excitement of uncovering something exciting and new.
    Great capture!

  3. Great picture! I also know what you mean about getting excited when you see something really great and unique to photograph - especially when it is wildlife.

I think I am now understanding what my husband and other hunters must feel like when the "big one" comes into range. You get so excited you almost forget how to work the camera!

  12. Isn't that amazing. I found a new bird yesterday too. Maybe they are all confused and going to the wrong habitats.

  18. Excellent job, Kerri! It's really hard to see those birds at times and harder still to get a good photo of them.

I really like the family of geese too and the chipping sparrow as well!
