Lovely pictures. Curled wings can mean a fresh emergence.

Jennifer: Wonderful captures, timing is so important in a photo and you were there at the right time.

How neat to meet a fellow blogger! I think it would be great to meet some of the nice people that I talk to every day in my blog :-) Very nice pics of both the dragonfly and grasshopper!

I bounce back and forth between taking photos alone and with friends. It is hard to say which I enjoy more!

Beautiful shots, Kerri. I hope everyone thinks to click on them to see the larger, more detailed version. I love dragonflies!

Meeting a fellow blogger with the sameinerests would be such fun, and then to go out on a co-ordinated photo shoot, WOW!
Perhaps the dragonfly hadn't dried it's wings out properly yet.

Glad to see the bent winged dragonfly - I really never got a good look at it. Nice of him to land on me! And didn't the grasshopper turn out well. It was so tiny!! He looks like he's holding on for dear life :-) Had a great time!

Nice shots Kerri. I was trying to photograph insects this morning, but they were all blurry. While I was busy our Siamese cat was cruising through the top branches of the bushes. I thought she was keeping me company - I later discovered she was looking for locusts, after she brought one into the house.

Cool shots Kerri!

That is so neat to shoot with a fellow blogger and to come away with such a great dragonfly shot!

Look closely at your grasshopper and you will see that not only does it grasp around the grass but that it also has little suction cups on its feet that allows it to stick on just about anything.

Not a bug person myself, but those are pretty photos. :)

Hi Kerri,

Another excellent post! I have never seen a dragonfly with bent wings like that. It is an interesting shot.

I liked your bench shot in todays post as well. It is so peaceful looking and the statement by Anne Frank is most appropriate and true!

You must have had an enormous patience to get one like that!
