....or two or three! The Blue Jays LOVE nuts ~ shelled or unshelled ~ any way you serve them up ~ they love them. If I buy them shelled I make sure that they are unsalted. I LOVE the beauty of their "blueness" ~ such lovely feathers. I know there are some that have found them to be very agressive. That has not been a problem at my feeders. This guy was quite a treat to watch ~ he seemed to want to gobble up as many nuts as he could. Monday

ReplyDeleteIt would so exciting to see one of these beautiful birds. We do have Blue Jays in Saskatchewan, but more in the heavily wooded areas. Such a wonderful photo Kerri!

ReplyDeleteI put out a feeder for the goldfinches last week, and they finally found it, so I've been sitting by the backdoor watching them eat nyjer. It's relaxing to just watch the birds eat

Ha! You caught him in the act!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot of the bluejay. They do love the peanuts.
ReplyDeleteOh isn't he just a beauty! I watched one being chased off by a cardinal this morning. Kind of the opposite of what I'd expected. That's a wonderful shot!

ReplyDeleteHi Kerri,
ReplyDeleteWow this guy was hungry ;-) This is a gorgeous pictures of one of the bird I hope to see once in my life together with many others from your area ;-)

ReplyDeleteBlessings,Ruth
that's quite a beak full ... and a unique view
ReplyDeleteKerri,
ReplyDeleteI enjoy our blue jays, too. We don't have trouble with them at the feeders. But they do cause problems for other nesting songbirds. Still, I love watching them. They wait for me each morning to put out mealworms.
Priceless photo, Kerri - he is definitely gorging at the bird buffet.
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous Kerri! Absolutely sharp and beautiful.
ReplyDelete...look at that beauty. You can see he's filling up his gular pouch too! Lovely photo...
ReplyDeleteGreat shot! They do like to grab a mouthful, don't they? Greedy.
ReplyDeletethis is SUCH! a great photo - love love it! :)
ReplyDeleteLove it! Gave me a huge smile, thank you :)
ReplyDeleteGreat photo!! I love bluejays...they are so cheeky and expressive...even if a bit noisy!!! Ours are a different variety here..with a crest.
ReplyDeleteAmazing bird! I've never seen this species in my life. I don't think it lives in Poland. We've got Jays here, but they look different.
ReplyDeleteAs for the shot - great capturing of a moment, composition, colours and sharpness are also perfect:)
He's beautiful. Love the pine needles in the foreground with him.
