I have a confession to make. I used to be really intimidated by bugs. OK maybe intimidated is not the right word .... how about SCARED of bugs. They really used to freak me out. Not quite so much anymore. I found this little (and I mean little) guy outside one day. He is about 1/4" long (if that) I took this with the macro lens and closely cropped it so you could see the details. I believe this to be a Northern Flatid Planthopper. He has quite a unique look ~~ don't you think?Monday

Well, isn't he just fascinating!
ReplyDeleteSure is a beaut Kerri.
ReplyDeleteNice work.
Very unusual shape body.
ReplyDeleteYou really get up close with them now, don't you?
I feel the same way about spiders, I get the creeps just looking at one. Might be because I was bitten by a black widow many years ago and had allergic reaction. Nearly did me in.
ReplyDeleteThe planthopper photo is beautiful Kerri! Wonderful color and great detail.
從來名利地,皆起是非心。.......................................................
ReplyDeleteI've seen these but never in such detail!! Fantastic close up.
ReplyDeleteWow! This is a great macro shot--I love the detail! I used to be unsettled by bugs, too, until I started looking at them through my camera lens. I still don't want them in my house, but outside I think they are fascinating!
ReplyDeleteHe's great looking. The picture is perfect.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm..... this little guy is certainly an odd little specimen. I bet he is easily passed by being so teeny! :)
ReplyDeleteHave a really nice Monday Kerri!
xo Catherine
Hahaha... what a face.... what a pose:) Love it:)
ReplyDeleteVery interesting indeed, almost cute even but I still hate bugs :)
ReplyDeleteLove the eyes...Great shot.
ReplyDeleteNot bad indeed for someone that freaked by bugs...
ReplyDeleteLovely Pic, thanks for the sharing
I've seen those bugs--they are so tiny I am impressed you got such a good photo. They are cute and I wonder what they eat.
ReplyDeleteNever seen one of these, wow, what a capture...and what a big eye for such a little dude!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute little bug!!! Great shot, Kerri!
ReplyDeleteI used to be really wigged out by butterflies but am getting better, bit by bit. :o)
Fun shot : )
ReplyDeleteWe have lots of leafhoppers out in the yard. They're precarious insects. When they land on you they really latch on.
very cool! love the color!
ReplyDeleteI like the Planthopper! Gorgeous color and luminous wings.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot; good job!
Thanks for stopping by!
If a bug can be described as "adorable", then this one is! Great capture.
ReplyDeleteHe is nice. Love the detail. Masterpiece.
ReplyDeleteHe looks more like a fish than a bug. This is a great picture.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,Ruth
wow I've never seen anything like this bug before - he's cute and so unusual a shape. I love the way his wee eye is looking at you.

What detail on such a tiny bug! Great macro shot!
ReplyDeleteThis wee critter is so cute - it looks like it has a bird's head with it's beak tucked in!
ReplyDeleteYour photos always give me the opportunity to see creatures closely that I otherwise would never encounter. I love the detail here and also like the texture of the surface he's on.
ReplyDeleteNeat shot. The pastel colors are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteHe is sooo cool..
ReplyDeleteYou know he looks a bit like a green parrot to me. hee hee
That is a great photo. The bug is actually quite pretty.
ReplyDeleteHe is adorable! Love his coloring too! I'm less scared of bugs when behind the camera too. lol
ReplyDeleteThat is really cool! I have a hard time believing you were afraid of bugs... you take so many wonderful photos of them!
