I caught my breath when I opened your post. What magnificent colours. And a great quote to go with it, one that we could all remember (especially me, as I don't like the thoughts of growing old!) Lol!
Excellent capture! We have a lot of goldfinches visiting the feeders in the maple outside our bedroom window but it's tough to get a good shot with most of the leaves still in place and strong winds the past few days.
I think that Burroughs' quote might be true of people, too. At least - I hope it is. The leaves are a perfect backdrop for your little bird, Kerri. Have a nice weekend.
Love the quote. Thanks for sharing. This is my favorite time of year because of the many facets fall brings, the leaves changing, harvest and friends gathering....
It is also when I met and fell in love with my husband of almost 31 years. He is a forester so the leaf themed quote is especially fitting.
I've seen very few Goldfinch this year. This little one is so pretty against the backdrop of the autumn colors.
ReplyDeleteI love that quote.
ReplyDeleteI guess we all have a lesson to learn from that.
Hope your day is filled with beauty.
Blessings,Ruth
Peaceful
ReplyDeleteOnce again......BEAUTIFUL!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteBright leaves and dusty yellow
ReplyDeleteGoldfinch.
"How beautifully the leaves grow old..." indeed. A lesson for us in the process of aging. To remain full of light and wonder.

The little finch looks right at home there among the colorful leaves.

ReplyDeleteHow sweet this is and how beautiful, both! Littel goldfinches are so fluffy looking and delicate.
ReplyDeleteMagnificent photo! Love the colors, the subject matter, & the juxtaposition!
