This mockingbird was putting on quite a display for me!
Be like the bird that, passing on her flight awhile on boughs too slight, feels them give way beneath her, and yet sings, knowing that she hath wings. - Victor Hugo
Whoa! I half expected her to come bursting through the computer screen, she gives a sense of such motion. Well done, and a great capture. Congratulations on the post of the week mention, by the way.
Also, as the page loaded, quite quickly really, and I wasn't quite sure yet what it was I was seeing, I thought that smallest buds up by her wing was actually some sort of statue. I had no notion that I was looking at a bird yet, just saw the wing and the buds...that looked like a Native American (First Nation) statue of a warrior when my eye first tried to process it.
So I thought you'd taken a photograph of a painting depicting a warrior and a god of flight.
