The last few days I have spent "downsizing" with still LOTS more to do. I have made a consicous decision to let go of "things" ~ they clutter my house and clutter my mind. This will be a continuing process but already my mind feels lighter.
Life is one long struggle to disinter oneself, to keep one's head above the accumulations, the ever deepening layers of objects ... which attempt to cover one over, steadily, almost irresistibly, like falling snow.

Beautiful catch Kerri
ReplyDeleteCant get more red than that
Always nice to see them around
Love the beautiful shot!!
ReplyDeleteGood for you about the downsizing! We all need to clean up a bit of clutter in our minds. You've motivated me!
A good idea. I think it's in a lot of our natures to 'collect' (and to shop). I need to do this in my closet.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Mikey -- red, red, red! Beautiful! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the picture.I to am in the process of sorting through stuff, but because it belonged to Jake it is much more difficult, but I am making progress.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,Ruth
Well, good for you...downsizing. Be warned though, the pull to want to put it back in is S-T-R-O-N-G!!! Determination WILL get you there though!...Love the little red and black birdie too!! I just finished a red and black scarf. I wish I had you here to photograph it for me!! :-)
ReplyDeleteBeauty!

Kerru, beautiful shot of the cardinal!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful approach to life and clutter....I know we all tend to hang on to things "just incase"...Your bird shot is stunning....How I love the contrast of Red against the evergreens or even a blue sky....
ReplyDeleteLovely cardinal...we have done some basement and closet cleaning here..it feels good...Michelle
ReplyDeleteWow! Everything about this photo is perfect. The blue and red contrast, the palcement of the bird's tail, the fruit its eating. I don't know this is just fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI'm just so taken by the cardinal . And they are so not the easiest to photograph.
ReplyDeleteNeither my hubby or I like clutter much, for this very reason, but with 5 kids it doesn't take long for "stuff " to accumulate.
Beautiful photo of the cardinal.
ReplyDeleteI downsized a bit last year but still have miles to go. It's amazing how much STUFF accumulates.
This sweet little bird looks very Christmasy! :)
ReplyDeleteDe-cluttering is always good for the soul. It's amazing what we hang on to isn't it??
Hope you are having a beautiful weekend Kerri!

ReplyDeleteGorgeous capture! Such a beautiful vivid red. Stunning bird. Good luck with your downsizing task.
ReplyDeleteWow - that shot is exquisite!
ReplyDeleteWONDERFUL COLOURS!
ReplyDeleteThis picture was too good to not make a comment on. Beautiful cardinal and excellent photography. Good luck on your "downsizing"--so hard to do, but such a load off one's mind when it is accomplished.
ReplyDeleteYou will absolutely find that downsizing or decluttering will add richness to your life. In the past month I have sold my house, all of my furniture except five antique pieces, most of my belongings, and this past week I sold my car. All of this is in anticipation of returning to my roots to help care for my elderly mother so that she will be able to continue living in her home. So far I don't miss anything ~ except the car maybe but I will replace that in a couple weeks when the move takes place. She is a bird feeder and watcher and I can't wait to be able to show her your beautiful bird photos. She especially likes cardinals, so keep up the fabulous work!
ReplyDeleteAs far as the clutter thing..i am all for decluttering..10 years ago we sold our home put things in storage and hit the road in our RV..you realize how much you need..and its not much. Simplifying is a beautiful freeing feeling..
ReplyDeleteGood luck to you...
just keep the essentials..
It reminds me that I need to get my grape wreath ready for the birds. Oh how I love the Cardinals.
ReplyDeleteB.
Keep only that which resonates in your heart and mind, Kerri. However, don't get rid of the camera! I love your gorgeous red friend.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beauty!
