........a snow bird! A Dark-eyed Junco. I only see these guys in late fall/winter and see them much more when there is snow falling. Here is a link for more info and to hear their typical voice: Dark-eyed Junco from All About BirdsMy favorite weather is bird-chirping weather. ~Terri Guillemets
There are dozens in my yard right now! And I can't wait to photograph the Cardinal and the Bluejay when it starts snowing later this morning :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I had SO much fun photographing them and the other birdies in the snow yesterday! He's beautiful Kerri!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot! We have those year round in our area -- we don't see them as much in the summer as we do in the fall and winter when they visit the feeders.
ReplyDeleteAh, isn't he a cute little thing. Terrific shot.
ReplyDeleteHe's beautiful, but it's too bad that you have to have the snow to see him! ^_^ Oh well, snow can be beautiful too...I guess. :-)
ReplyDeleteSuch a delicate beauty!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful Kerri :) Merry Christmas yeay!
ReplyDeleteFabulous. I've been wondering what a Junco looked like and now I know. Wonderful colouring.
ReplyDeleteJust began to snow here in Maryland and already the juncoes are out! Lovely capture on this beautiful little winter visitor, Kerri!
ReplyDeleteI had your two blogs confused.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, the little Dark-eyed Junco is precious!
Thank you for sharing!
We seem to have a flock of these living on our land, in dense brush. They come to the feeder as a flock and then go back to their comfy home. Hope you are keeping warm these days.
ReplyDeleteHe may be a plain bird, but I think he is beautiful and their cheery chirps brighten a cold day.
