Okay, I just read your full profile. No wonder we were shooting the same species on the same day; you're just 50 miles up I-81 from us! We're live just outside Wytheville.
He is gorgeous! The birds help out in the winter at my house. I would go crazy with out their beauty. I miss the butterflies so very much by February. Sherry
I am always so happy to check into your blog and find "another" great photo. Such a great shot of the woodpecker--I must say I just had two that would not leave our house alone. They were both most stubborn. I got up on a 20 foot ladder and "stuck" pieces of colored paper around the eaves. They FINALLY got the hint and flew off to peck holes in someone else's house!!!
What a stunning picture Kerrie, WELL DONE!!!
