I so adore the Hawk/Hummingbird Moth but never see them on our flowers. I even have flocks, which they love, but still, nothing. A nice sight in the dead of winter.
It's always nice to look at a summery scene when the winter chill gets to be a bit much. These moths are such fun to watch, and you got a great capture, Kerri!
I have seen them occasionally in my garden in the middle of NC. Last summer, butterflies and hummingbird moths swarmed my butterfly bush for 2 months. It was wonderful and my husband, who had never seen the moths before, was entranced by them.
Ahh ... memories of summer. Absolutely beautiful image! Aren't Hummingbird Moths lovely? I caught a glimpse of one last summer and was so fascinated by it that I forgot that I had a camera in my hands. It was gone before I could snap a photo or two.
I had never seen or heard of a hummingbird moth!! It's beautiful!...Your photos are just exquisite!
