Love those colors - and it's so funny to have the head buried in the tree! We hear a woodpecker here - pecking away on the house - of aluminum siding and NOT wood!!!
Wonder what goodies he found in there!!
We spotted several holes in the upper portions of the maples in our yard and initially though the woodpeckers were responsible until we discovered chickadees were nesting in them.
Great shot--I wonder if he was checking to see if that would work as a nest. Allen--believe the chickadees didn't make the holes, probably they are using old woodpecker holes.
