Not by appointment do we meet delight Or joy; they heed not our expectancy; But round some corner of the streets of life they of a sudden greet us with a smile. ~ Gerald Massey
...I love these critters! The fellow on the right looks like a Snowberry Clearwing Hummingbird Moth. He has a little black mask, and that's what I always look for to ID them. Love how you got two in one photo! :-)
I like the way you are able to stop the wings! I took some photos of these recently but the wings are awlays a blur. These little critters are so interesting, but they sure move around quickly.
I had them in my garden this past summer also. At first I thought they were hummingbirds. I did a layout of them that I am going to post later today. I am really looking foward to spring! I always enjoy your quotes and photos, thanks!

I have often wondered what these amazing creatures are called. Now I know!
Love these guys... they have sort of clunky looking bodies but maneuver like hummingbirds although not as fast... Neat photo!
