Heart Shaped Shell

Life is short and we have never too much time for gladdening the hearts of those who are traveling the dark journey with us.
Oh be swift to love, make haste to be kind.
 ~ Henri-Frederic Amiel

Shell - underwater near the shore - caught my eye - can you see the heart?
My favorite part of the quote above "make haste to be kind" - Love that!

Small Steps

The key to realizing a dream is to focus not on success but significance - and then even the small steps and little victories along your path will take on greater meaning.

Heart Of Gold

Sometimes the heart sees
what is invisible to the eye.
~H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

And again - I'm seeing HEARTS everywhere .... do you see the little heart in the "heart" of the wildflower?  I am ALWAYS amazed by the Beauty produced by Nature.

The Future Is Completely Open ....

(Question Mark Butterfly on a Tree at Deerfield Trail - 05-27-12)

Quite a profound quote, don't you think?
Did you believe it when your parents told you - "you can be anything you want when you grow up"?
I did!
My problem was that I didn't know what I wanted to be.  It's been just the past few years that I feel like I've become the true me - and the person I want to be.  Far from perfect - but I'm happy with the result.

Be What You Are

Be what you are.  This is the first step toward becoming better than you are.
~Julius Charles Hare

Let Your Life Lightly Dance .....

The field was covered in diamond dew droplets and
not a single leaf nor blade of grass was left out of the
glistening loveliness.
And for a Moment .... I was part of that Magic.

Along The Road

Along The Road

Joy at the start
Fear in the journey
Joy in the coming home
A part of the heart gets lost in the learning
Somewhere along the road

Along the road your path may wander
A pilgrim's faith may fail
Absence makes the heart grow fonder
Darkness obscures the trail

Cursing the quest
Courting disaster
Measureless nights forbode
Moments of rest
Glimpses of laughter
Are treasured along the road

Along the road your steps may stumble
Your thoughts may start to stray
But through it all a heart held humble
Levels and lights your way

Joy at the start
Fear in the journey
Joy in the coming home
A part of the heart gets lost in the learning
Somewhere along the road
Somewhere along the road
Somewhere along the road

To Mingle with the Universe

There is pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is a rapture on the lonely shore,
There is society, where none intrudes,
By the deep sea, and music in its roar:
I love not man the less, but Nature more,
From these our interviews, in which I steal
From all I may be, or have been before,
To mingle with the Universe, and feel
What I can ne'er express, yet cannot all conceal
~ LORD BYRON

Mingling with the Universe ..... that sums up how I feel when I am out walking in nature!

Morning Light On A Wildflower

The moment when you first wake up in the morning is the most wonderful of the twenty-four hours. No matter how weary or dreary you may feel, you possess the certainty that, during the day that lies before you, absolutely anything may happen. And the fact that it practically always doesn't, matters not a jot. The possibility is always there.
 ~Monica Baldwin

A little bit of "morning magic" found  during a walk.

Summer Delight

Summertime is always the best of what might be.
~ Charles Bowden

Captured with my iPhone and Olloclip lens.   That little flower he is on is the first milkweed bloom. Once the milkweed blooms I start seeing more and more butterflies - so Milkweed is a True Delight of Summer!

Sunshine for the Soul

Flowers always make people better, happier, and more helpful; they are sunshine, food and medicine for the soul.

Kingfisher in Flight

I heard him before I saw him -
and what a smile it brought to my face.
Was it possible that I might get a glimpse of that wonderful creature - the Belted Kingfisher?
I did get a faraway glimpse as he flew over the pond.
Just a blur - but a wonderful moment to capture.

Something Good in Every Day

Thankful

Goldfinch Couple - Heritage Park - Blacksburg VA

Every day is a day to be thankful. Life's abundance has no limit, and gratitude is what keeps that abundance flowing. In every circumstance there is something for which to be thankful. Even when there seems to be nothing else, there is hope.
~ Ralph Marston

Cotton Ball Clouds

Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer's day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time.  ~ John Lubbock
