Little pieces of my life and my photos.
Was it vacated??
I don't know if that was a treasure or not. I'd wait until it got cold and shoot it down, enclose it in a plastic bag and spray with wasp spray. Then it will be a treasure.
I photographed one of these in Maggie Valley, what is it?Good shot BTW.Working on my new blog, still named the wild magnolia. I'm working on having this show in my ID, rather than my name.
Two years ago we had a hive like this hanging from the eave of our house, and last year we had one in a tree in our front yard. We never go near them, but they are quite spectacular when you think about it, that a bunch of tiny creatures can build these... xox
HI Kerri Is that a Wasp nest? I had a nest years ago that looked like that.
That is a beauty, Kerry! Love the swirls in the design, and the colors and soft focus in the background.
Nice find. As long as the bees stay in there!
It is a treasure...as long as it is empty.
The detail and texture of this hive are amazing.
Very cool looking aren't they . Not many things outright make me shiver in nature ~ but wasps nests that are busy always do !
Great picture. Shows what can be done through cooperation!Cheers - Stewart M - Australia
I have never seen one before!
Nice one! I've come across a few of these in the woods over the years.
Gosh ~ that is a big one!xo Catherine
