"Let us savour the swift delights of the most beautiful of our days."
~ Alphonse de Lamartine
And delighted we were over this past weekend. The weather was wonderful and we were able to spend quite a bit of time outside on both days. I'm still going through my images- but this is one of a Tufted Titmouse. The Birds at Bisset Park are very cooperative
“The sun shines not on us but in us. The rivers flow not past, but through us. Thrilling, tingling, vibrating every fiber and cell of the substance of our bodies, making them glide and sing. The trees wave and the flowers bloom in our bodies as well as our souls, and every bird song, wind song, and tremendous storm song of the rocks in the heart of the mountains is our song, our very own, and sings our love.”
― John Muir
Jim and I visited the Whitt-Riverbend Park in Pearisburg/Ripplemead for the first time
on Saturday (01/20/18). A Great park with Beautiful Views!
Nature looks dead in winter because her life is gathered into her heart. She withers the plant down to the root that she may grow it up again fairer and stronger. She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare them for being scattered abroad upon the face of the earth.
"There is a pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is a rapture on the lonely shore,
There is society, where none intrudes,
By the deep sea, and music in its roar:
I love not man the less, but Nature more."
