~Amanda Bradley

Thursday

Mockingbird In Take-off Mode

The one thing we can never get enough of is love. And the one thing we never give enough of is love.
- Henry Miller

Wednesday

Amazing Wings

This mockingbird was putting on quite a display for me!

Be like the bird that, passing on her flight awhile on boughs too slight, feels them give way beneath her, and yet sings, knowing that she hath wings.- Victor Hugo

Tuesday

Behind the Branches

Be brave enough to live creatively. The creative is the place where no one else has ever been. You have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition. You cannot get there by bus, only by hard work, risking and by not quite knowing what you are doing. What you will discover will be wonderful: yourself.
 - Alan Alda

Wishing you all a wonderful day filled with creativity and discovery!

Monday

Small Wonders

Everything has its wonders, even darkness and silence, and I learn, whatever state I may be in, therein to be content.
Helen Keller
Wishing you a day filled with wonders!

Sunday

Patterns in the Tapestry

Nature uses only the longest threads to weave her patterns, so each small piece of her fabric reveals the organization of the entire tapestry.
~ Richard Feynman

Saturday

The Wave

Do not say, "It is morning," and dismiss it with a name of yesterday. See it for the first time as a newborn child that has no name.
 Rabindranath Tagore

I like to think that this mockingbird was waving "Hello"!

Laugh! And Brush Away Those Cobwebs

Laughter is the brush that sweeps away the cobwebs of the heart.
- Mort Walker

Tuesday

In the Company of Friends

There is a magnet in your heart that will attract true friends. That magnet is unselfishness, thinking of others first . . . when you learn to live for others, they will live for you.
- Paramahansa Yogananda

Monday

Hidden Beauty

This quote spoke to my heart this morning and I wanted to share it with you.

When your inner eyes open, you can find immense beauty hidden within the inconsequential details of daily life. When your inner ears open, you can hear the subtle, lovely music of the universe everywhere you go.- Timothy Ray Miller

Sunday

Preparing for the Future

You had better live your best and act your best and think your best today; for today is the sure preparation for tomorrow and all the other tomorrows that follow.
-Harriet Martineau

It was amazing to watch this female Red-bellied Woodpecker excavating a nest cavity. At some points she would be completely inside the hole with just a bit of her tail sticking out. She worked very hard at it!

Upside Down

There is always something to chuckle about. Sometimes we see it. Sometimes . . . we don't. Still, the world is filled with humor. It is there when we are happy and it is there to cheer us up when we are not.
~Allen Klein

Sunday

A Bird in Blue

Nature gives to every time and season some beauties of its own; and from morning to night, as from the cradle to the grave, it is but a succession of changes so gentle and easy that we can scarcely mark their progress.
 ~ Charles Dickens

As the leaves thin it is MUCH easier to see these guys in the trees. If you look closely you can see that he has a treat - an acorn or some type of nut.

Saturday

Made of Corn Husks

I feel like there are more possibilities when I work with my hands.
 ― Oded Ezer

During Brianna's first year at Radford, we attended the Folk Arts Festival and Highlander Festival.  This image is from the corn husk doll display. So colorful and "fall-ish". I especially LOVE the one with the rooster :)

How marvelous it is to do nothing and then relax from doing nothing.
~ Heinrich Zille

Thursday

Hidden

And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it.
~ Roald Dahl

When you arise in the morning,

Sunday

Catbird and Berries

For attractive lips, speak words of kindness. For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people. For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry. For beautiful hair, let a child run his or her fingers through it once a day. For poise, walk with the knowledge you'll never walk alone.
- Audrey Hepburn

Saturday

On Top of the World

There is no better exercise for strengthening the heart than reaching down and lifting up another.
 ~ Unknown

Friday

At Waters Edge

October is the fallen leaf, but it is also a wider horizon more clearly seen. It is the distant hills once more in sight, and the enduring constellations above them once again.
 ~Hal Borland
