Friday

Skywatch Friday 02-22-08

This was taken on a Sunday morning in December...right after an Ice Storm.
It's hard to tell....but all of those trees are coated with ice.
It was a beautiful "Day After".

We had a new ice storm forecast for last night...BUT
It missed us. Yippee!

This was NOT taken on the same day...but I liked how there is a

bottom set of clouds....and a top set of clouds :)

Have a Happy Friday Everyone!!
And a GREAT Weekend!!

  2. I love the sugar coating of ice storms. And the layers of clouds that are soft and flat are also very beautiful. Like impressionistic paintings.

  5. Both these are beautiful views Kerri.. I have never seen the aftermath of a full ice storm over here, but that caster sugar coating effect on the tree tops is stunning.

I have a few more reflective shots lined up for tomorrow which when I viewed them on the P.C. they made my eyes go funny.
I also have a poem coming up for one day next week.. and pictures to suit.. it was a strange happening of me falling in love with a rundown farm building, I asked the farmer if he would mind me taking pictures from his land... he said yes. Then when I got home I picked up one of my poetry books... the pages opened up to a certain poem, and was wrote by a chap who lived in this same area long ago. A bit spooky because the rotten old house and the poem are made for each other. If you get the chance drop by when you can and see these posts.
Have a great weekend.. thanks for your visits and comments again this week.

  6. both are wonderful, but the bottom one, WOW! The top one has a fairyland quality about it... I have never experienced snow falling or an ice storm, just the odd hail storm with big round hailstones (once in Johannesburg they were the size of tennis balls and did huge damage to roofs, trees and cars!)

  7. Hi Kerri,
    These are awesome shots.
That bottom one is almost like a 3D shot, hey? Nice, very moody.
I'm glad you didn't get hit by the ice storm, can't believe those are still coming around yet.
