  1. A very nice set of pictures Kerri.. I wish you well with the tree and flowers. I have tried many times without success to learn the names of local trees and flowers.
I look forward to seeing this learning process on your post.

I explored some of your gallery and enjoyed your images...especially the close-ups of all the birds.

  16. I love the squirrel the best. The icicles would have excited me back in January and a little in February but I am ready for Spring since I am seeing so many signs of new growth.

  21. Gorgeous photos! I'm amazed with the photos of ice storms - that is one thing we don't have up here. The colors in your tree photo are so pretty!

  22. Your squirrel and bird pictures are amazing. How do you do that? Those critters will not sit still for my camera. I also have a goal of being able to identify more of the wildflowers and trees that I see.

  24. Beautiful photos, Kerri. I'm guessing about the tree: could it be a redbud? I'm going to check and see what redbuds actually look like. They grow in Toronto but not where I live just 45 to 60 minutes north of the city. I'll be back!!

  25. Nice pictures Kerri. While I was in south Ala some of the trees were budding out red and I was told they were maples. I couldn't get a good shot because the branches were so high.

  26. Hi Kerri,

I rarely know what flower or tree I'm photographing, so I include them in my posts without captions :o) HA!

Like you, I want to be able to name them. It's my goal for a while.

  27. Oh, Ice storms... horrible. Dangerous to drive, and probably even more dangerous to walk anywhere! And the ice does such a lot of damage to the trees.

  28. Lovely shots! I love the colour of the flowers on that tree.

  29. Lovely shots! I can do without any more ice this spring! Its nice to see trees flowering and the squirrel shot is great, nice composition and excellent sharpness!

I think the flowering tree is a red maple. See my photos of red maple flowers (I forced them indoores) at: http://anitabower.aminus3.com/image/2008-02-26.html
