One year ago today, the campus of Virginia Tech and our small town of Blacksburg, Virginia was turned upside down. Take time today to remember all of those that were lost.... and don't forget to say "I love you" to those special people in your lives.
Gosh, a year already. Last year before heading south I went to see the memorial and pay my respects. It was quite extraordinary to stand there and imagine the incident happening.
My hearts and prayers to the family. You never think that something like this can touch your world, but here in northern Illinois (about 10 miles from here) we found out that was not true. Our tragedy at Northern Illinois University is still so fresh in our minds.
Kerri: That certainly was an awful thing that happened on the campus. My work has a plant in Pulaski so this affected many of them from being so close to VIT.
Thank you Kerri for the reminder. Our world certainly gets turned topsy turvy sometimes. I will pause to remember and be thankful for family and friends, and I will tell them so.
I heard on the news that it is being referred to as 4-16 like 9-11 is. . . It was a long distance from me on the west coast but it touched my heart and I will never forget them either.
A nice and fitting tribute Kerri, thank you for bring this up today.. I will make time for my loved ones today in honour of this. I am behind in a phone call to my sister so I will do that one right away..
I’ve heard about that tragic day. There are no words of comfort for those who lost their loved ones. May God give them enough strength to go on with their lives! Because I know that nothing is the same for them any more no matter how much time has past from that moment. Your tribute is beautiful as well as the flowers. May God bless you!
That's much too close to home when it IS home. I'm so sorry for that.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder to appreciate and cherish.
