Family Day

For the past several days I've been visiting my son who is in OSUT at Fort Benning, GA. This was the first time we had seen him since March 6th when he left. Friday was Family Day and we were able to be with him through Sunday. It was a FANTASTIC weekend!! The smiles on their faces tell how happy Brother and Sister were to be together again!
How important it is for us to recognize and celebrate our heroes and she-roes! ~Maya Angelou

  1. SUCH a wonderful photo of the two of them. Wishing peace and love to all military families with Heros and Sheroes out there working for us.

  6. Beautiful kids, Kerri! You must be very proud. I did jump school at Ft. Benning in the mid 70s and well remember the sweltering summer weather down there.

The quote from Maya Angelou is perfect! Sadly, every time I hear her name the memorial service at VT always comes to mind.

  14. So happy you got that visit. We were in Columbus week before last visiting family. My son just returned to Ft. Campbell. He took a quick leave after returning from Afghanistan. He wants to save time for the holidays.
