A Spring Morning

Print Available - HERE

"This I saw on an April day:
Warm rain spilt from a sun-lined cloud,
A sky-flung wave of gold at evening,
And a cock pheasant treading a dusty path
 Shy and proud.

And this I found in an April field:
A new white calf in the sun at noon,
A flash of blue in a cool moss bank,
And tips of tulips promising flowers
 To a blue-winged loon."
- James Hearst

Snow Covered

I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields, that it kisses them so gently? And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says "Go to sleep, darlings, till the summer comes again.
 — Lewis Carroll

Pink and Green and Yellow Between

And Spring arose on the garden fair,
 Like the Spirit of Love felt everywhere;
And each flower and herb on
Earth’s dark breast rose from the dreams of its wintry rest.
~ Percy Bysshe Shelley, "The Sensitive Plant"

Fallen Autumn

“I think of the trees and how simply they let go, let fall the riches of a season, how without grief (it seems) they can let go and go deep into their roots for renewal and sleep.... Imitate the trees. Learn to lose in order to recover, and remember that nothing stays the same for long....

Seahorse

Life just seems so full of connections. Most of the time we don't even pay attention to the depth of life. We only see flat surfaces.
- Colin Neenan

Another image from our trip to the NC Aquarium.
I could have spent all day here!
In looking up info on seahorses -- I found that they are the only fish with a neck.
I didn't even realize they were classified as fish.
So I've learned something new today!

Leidys Comb Jellyfish

I've found that there is always some beauty left --
in nature, sunshine, freedom, in yourself; these can all help you.
 — Anne Frank

I took this at the North Carolina Aquarium.
It reminded me of a little angel.

One grateful thought is a ray of sunshine. A hundred such thoughts paint a sunrise. A thousand will rival the glaring sky at noonday - for gratitude is light against the darkness.
