Jekyll Island - Early Morning at Driftwood Beach

“There's something about a place you've been with someone you love. It takes on a meaning in your mind. It becomes more than a place. It becomes a distillation of what you felt for each other. The moments you spend in a place with someone... they become part of its bricks and mortar. Part of its soul.”
 ― Cassandra Clare

Southern Drive Through Spanish Moss

“Trees down south have a difference to them, a subtle, slinking movement, mile by mile-
a gracefulness, a swagger.
Lanky trees stretching out their wiry thin,
Spanish moss-covered branches,
moss that sways and beckons ...
come here, come here, it says.”
 ― Suzanne Palmieri

Painted Bunting - My First!

“In wisdom gathered over time I have found that every experience is a form of exploration.”
 ― Ansel Adams

I can't tell you how excited I was to not only see a painted bunting for the first time, but to actually photograph it.  This was taken during our latest photography journey through Georgia and Florida.  Jim actually saw it first and described it as a bird with yellow and red on it (he saw it as it was flying away).  I was hoping it was a painted bunting as that was one of the birds on my list to try to find.  And a few minutes later I captured this!
One of the many highlights of our trip!
