My one and only sighting
This was taken at Bisset Park in Radford, Virginia - a GREAT place for birds! I had not identified him at that time - but I do believe he is a Black and White Warbler.

Golden-crowned Kinglet

From Cornell's All About Birds Website:  A tiny, continuously active bird, the Golden-crowned Kinglet is most frequently found in coniferous woods. Despite being barely larger than a hummingbird, the kinglet winters northward to Canada and Alaska. 

Continuously active = hard to get a good shot!  This was the best I could do.

If you ever get to the Radford area,  
I highly recommend a visit to Bisset Park
It has a lovely walking trail along the New River AND is a GREAT place for birding!  
It is part of the Virginia Birding and Wildlife Trail.

Osprey At Claytor Lake State Park

Bisset Park in Radford, Virginia is a GREAT place to see birds. It is part of the Virginia Birding and Wildlife Trail. I saw several Brown Creepers during one of my outings there. They are so fast - and blend in with the trees so well. Bisset Park is also where I saw my spark bird - A Yellow-throated warbler.

One of my all time favorite places for 
photographing birds is Bisset Park in 
Radford, Virginia. 
There is a paved trail that leads you beside the 
New River and allows for amazing photo opportunities. 
The blue you see in the background 
of this photo is the sky reflected off of the river.  

As you can see, it was definitely a blue sky day.
