Web in the Berries

"Around us, life bursts with miracles--a glass of water, a ray of sunshine, a leaf, a caterpillar, a flower, laughter, raindrops. If you live in awareness, it is easy to see miracles everywhere." — Thich Nhat Hanh

In The Forest Series - Simply Blue

Nature looks dead in winter because her life is gathered into her heart. She withers the plant down to the root that she may grow it up again fairer and stronger. She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare them for being scattered abroad upon the face of the earth.
~ Hugh Macmillan

In The Forest Series - Just Hanging Around

"Let me arise and open the gate,
to breathe the wild warm air of the heath,
 And to let in Love, and to let out Hate,
And anger at living and scorn of Fate,
To let in Life, and to let out Death."
- Violet Fane

Mother Nature In Her Festive Dress

It is tenderness for the past, courage for the present, hope for the future. It is a fervent wish that every cup may overflow with blessings rich and eternal, and that every path may lead to peace.
 - Agnes M. Pharo

I thought this tree draped in berries looked quite lovely....
like it was wearing a Red Dress :)

Thankful for the Berries

We pray for the big things
and forget to give thanks for the ordinary,
small (and yet really not small) gifts.
- Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Thankful for the berries and the trees that produce those berries.  Without those trees and berries, I wouldn't be able to watch the beautiful birds that visit.

Seasonal Opportunity

The secret of success in life is for a man to be ready for his opportunity when it comes.
 ~ Benjamin Disraeli

There are a few days out of the year when this Dogwood tree is full of berries....and the birds flock to it.   Those are the days when the birds grab the berries and I try to grab shots of them grabbing the berries.   It only comes around once a year - so I had to grab the opportunity.

Wednesday

Catbird Tosses a Berry

Acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation for all abundance.
 — Eckhart Tolle

It is always FUN to find the birds exhibiting a unique behavior.  And I guess this really isn't so unique - it's just that they toss those berries SO FAST it's hard to see them when they are doing it.  I usually see that I've captured it AFTER I get home and download the shots.

For tender grass, so fresh, so sweet;
For song of bird, and hum of bee;
For all things fair we hear or see,
Father in heaven, we thank Thee!
