excursions over the holidays.
It looks delicate, but I know it is strong.
A little bit like my life this past week :)
I "zoomed in" so the pic is not as sharp
but I think you can see it a bit better.
When I first saw this, I thought it was a "fuzzy" that had floated and
was caught between these branches.
After I looked at it on the computer, I realized it was "attached"
to the branches.
If this isn't a web perhaps it's a "casing" of some sort.
If you know what it is -
If you know what it is -
please comment and let me know.

Very pretty picture indeed but to me it looks like a silk web that has been there for a while but I'm not sure about these things.
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better!
Rocky Mountain Retreat
Sorry, no help. But very cool picture.
ReplyDeleteI was sitting here thinking it is Sunday, and we have nothing planned. I was thinking, what should I do today. Thanks to you, I just realized I need to get outside in the woods and take pictures!!! Now I am excited!
First things first - great pictures - especially NO. 2.
ReplyDeleteSecond - No, I don't know for sure. I side with Michele and take it for an old web, but there are thousands of varieties of these, and not all of them look like what we think of as a "web".
Third - thank you for nice comment!
Don't know what it is but is makes for a nice image!
ReplyDeleteCany say what, i'll go with your s a web.
ReplyDeleteGreat post and great photo.
Come and join me for ------
It's pretty, but i don't know what it is!
ReplyDeleteHappy new year to you : ) Thanks for posting such nice pictures :)
ReplyDeleteIt's a great capture what ever it is. If it is not a web maybe an egg sack from something. Well noticed.
ReplyDeleteWhatever it is, good that you were out looking. I did the same today, and the quiet and wildlife did me good.
ReplyDeleteNeat Kerri
ReplyDeleteNo, I have no idea what it is... but it is a neat post just the same, and that is all I wanted to say! :)
ReplyDeleteI have to admit that I don't know what it is, but it still makes an excellent photo.
ReplyDeleteWebs always make me go for the camera. And, yes, there is a fine between feeling delicate and strong. I hope you are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteI think it's a web too. What an exceptional eye you have for the tiny things in life. I love visiting your blog to see what you've captured for us.
ReplyDeleteWas it Peter, Paul & Mary who sang:
ReplyDelete"The answer my friend is blowing in the wind.
The answer is blowing in the wind.
That's a cool photo. It looks like it is hanging on by a thread. I like the buds starting to come out on the tips of the branches. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI would go for some sort of web or cocoon for a moth... but it sure is a great photo!
ReplyDeleteThe inherent symmetry of this apparently random scrap of web is fascinating. Beautiful shot. You have a keen eye.
ReplyDeletehowdy kerri - happy new year.
ReplyDeletei've missed some great shots over the last few weeks. i'll go with the remains of a coocoon of some sort.
Nice picture. I took some similar ones recently that I am waiting to develop.
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting find. I would think it was some type of web also.
ReplyDeleteI have taken photos of "webs" after a rainy day tht were thick like that. Perhaps part of it got washed away in the rain?
ReplyDeleteWow! Superb pic.
ReplyDeletewow! beautiful! I pray that you will be okay, Kerri...regarding your current difficulties...the Lord will hear your prayers.
ReplyDeleteYou have such a wonderful eye! You're teachig me to look even more closely at the things around me. Thank you for that. :)
