Morning Along the Trail

Morning is the best of all times in the garden. The sun is not yet hot. Sweet vapors rise from the earth. Night dew clings to the soil and makes plants glisten. Birds call to one another. Bees are already at work.
~ William Longgood

Morning is definitely my FAVORITE time of day.

Monday

Dew Drops on Caterpillar

Just when I think I have learned the way to live, life changes.
~Hugh Prather

Sunday

Cedar Waxwing

Life is a process of becoming, a combination of states we have to go through. Where people fail is that they wish to elect a state and remain in it. This is a kind of death.
~ Anaïs Nin

Two of a Kind

Find out how much God has given you and from it take what you need;
the remainder is needed by others.
~Saint Augustine

Over the Rainbow

I am quite fascinated by the spider art (ie, webs) I find when I am out for my morning walk.  This one had a rainbow of colors which were actually flowers/leaves that were located behind the web.

Pleasure is spread through the earth
In stray gifts to be claimed by whoever shall find.

~William Wordsworth

At the Center of It All

One amazing morning I went out in search of webs ~ and I found them!
Art is a collaboration between God and the artist, and the less the artist does the better.

The moment one gives close attention to any thing, even a blade of grass it becomes a mysterious, awesome, indescribably magnificent world in itself.

Sunshine on His Feathers

Kind hearts are the gardens,
Kind thoughts are the roots,
Kind words are the flowers,
Kind deeds are the fruits,
 Take care of your garden
And keep out the weeds,
Fill it with sunshine
Kind words and kind deeds
~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

On A Summer Saturday

The artist is a receptacle for the emotions that come from all over the place: from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider's web.
~ Pablo Picasso

Blending In

One of my photos from vacation ~ taken at the NC Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores. They have a FANTASTIC boardwalk area that takes you to little marshes. This is closely cropped so a bit of distortion. I am not sure of the ID on this lovely ~ but one thing I know for sure ~ he blends in to his surroundings quite nicely :)
Edited:  possibly a Juvie Yellow-crowned Night Heron

Wednesday

My Field of Dreams

I dream of fields
overflowing
       overflowing
                 overflowing
with wildflowers
            and butterflies

Flying Flowers

Butterflies really do remind me of flowers that fly!

Have you had a kindness shown?
Pass it on;
'Twas not given for thee alone,
Pass it on;
Let it travel down the years,
Let it wipe another's tears,
'Til in Heaven the deed appears -
Pass it on.

~ Henry Burton, Pass It On

My hope is that you have found kindness on this day
~ and that you have passed it on.

Hope you all have a Terrific Tuesday!

Monday

Morning Dew

The grand show is eternal. It is always sunrise somewhere; the dew is never dried all at once; a shower is forever falling; vapor is ever rising. Eternal sunrise, eternal dawn and gloaming, on sea and continents and islands, each in its turn, as the round earth rolls.
~ John Muir

Don't Forget The Flowers

Stretching his hand up to reach the stars, too often man forgets the flowers at his feet.
 ― Jeremy Bentham

Keep on Trying

A little bend in the wing wasn't keeping this dragonfly down.

Every accomplishment starts
with the decision to try.

The Sweet Kiss of Rain

Let the rain kiss you. Let the rain beat upon your head with silver liquid drops. Let the rain sing you a lullaby.
~ Langston Hughes

Egg-Laying Monarch

What is important is not what you hear said, it's what you observe.
 ― Michael Connelly

This Monarch is ovipositing - laying eggs.  I ALWAYS love to observe the behavior of butterflies, and bugs, and birds - and just about anything else in the kingdom of the wild.
