The little things? The little moments? They aren't little. - John Zabat-Zinn A Male Downy Woodpecker poses in the pines off of my deck. I am so IN LOVE with the birds that visit.
You're so lucky to have such a variety of visitors! At BBR, only finches and hummers get close to the house. Others do come, but are tough to get close enough to capture as good as what you've done here.
If only I had such lovely visitors around my home! This is another breathtaking photo! The photo is so clear and the colours are so bright! Just fantastic!
Thanks for the visit and comment. Your photography is tremendous - I've enjoyed my first visit here and I've scrolled back a long way through your blog.
You would enjoy the photography of a very talented US blogger - Old Man Lincoln.
I am so envious of your ability to get such beautiful pictures. I bet you have a state of the art camera with long lenses and a trillion pixels. Congratulations on POTD

He is a beauty.
Enjoy your weekend. Maybe with the warmer weather you will be able to get some more pictures of some birds!
You must have a terrific lens. Do you shoot your birds through a window?
Fantastic shot, such a bright scene.
Ruth,
Yes I shoot most through the sliding glass door on my deck.
I have a 70-300mm lens that I use...always on the long end :)

Nice Kerri, it's good to have some good birds stopping by.
What a great shot Kerri. The green really sets off the red and black feathers.

Lovely shot of the Downy Woodpecker. I can't blame you one bit for loving these beauties. They're none too shy either, eh?

Do keep in touch.
Looks like you have a delightful place for birds to visit- lots of trees for them to hide. Very nice shot!
