Wilderness is a Necessity

A bench along a trail during on of our hikes.  There were
many of these benches spread out along the trail...which was QUITE ROCKY.
It is lovely being outside and enjoying nature!

On our left was Stony Creek...and there were LOTS of rocks in it too.

What a wonderful day!
Thousands of tired, nerve-shaken, over-civilized people are beginning to find out going to the mountains is going home; that wilderness is a necessity…

Was this at Peaks of Otter too? Very appealing place...I need to stop working on fixing and/or setting up my computer and get out there!

Looks like it was a perfect day for a photo hike. I appreciate benches along a trail, either to rest, or just to enjoy the quiet.

I'm so glad you joined us on Friday benches day. Your bench is in a lovely setting and I would have loved being there with you.

Thanks also for posting benches on our shared blog this past week -- I have really enjoyed them.

I have a big group of benches for this Friday theme today --if you haven't stopped by, I hope you will come and see them.

This looks like my kind of photoworthy trail. Is this along the Blue Ridge Parkway?
