I'm so sorry things have been difficult for you. I've had a very similar year dealing with both of our parents health issues. I hope 2010 is a better year for you and your family!

Hi Kerri,

I'm glad I found your blog too!! Your photos are absolutely gorgeous. The birds are incredible. We have alot in common from college sports to baseball to photography and Dad's that we love dearly but are not in the best of health. My folks live in VT and I'm in MI so I don't see them often enough.

I'm adding your blog to my blogrolls so I can see all your new posts!

Hope 2010 is good for you.

Kerri,
I feel for you :( it is a difficult position to be in. Very trying and exhausting. Sometimes you feel helpless to help and powerless to mak a difference. I became my 83 year old father's 24/7caregiver this June. Life turned upside down for me in an instant. I'm just now beginning to see light and the hand of God in the whole situation. But it was hard, very hard to get to this point.

I worked in assited Living for 5 years before leavng my job to care for dad. It is a difficult place to be when your parent's health forces life changes. It affects the whole family.

I am praying for you, Kerri and your family. It is enough to have one with ill health let alone more. May you and yours find creative ideas to provide the care that this situation calls for. I pray that the Lord gives you and yours the strength to carry the load. May you all be blessed as you share in the care of your elderly parents. It really should be a shared event. It truly is unlike anything you could imagine to be the soul caregiver for an elderly/ disabled parent.

I also lift you up to the Lord and praise Him that you and your family are willing to do what you can. Some families don't rally to care, and some have no family. I pray restored health to your father, and restored mind to your mother.

May 2010 give opportunites to see things in a different light. May you approach the New Year with a peaceful strength that carries you into this next phasee of life.

God bless!
