That Windblown Look

And forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair
 ―  Kahlil Gibran

This male cardinal reminded me of the pic of the woman over the grate in the sidewalk that gets her dress blown up....here his feathers are getting "blown up".
Cardinals are so photogenic!

Reminds me of Marilyn Monroe standing over the subway grate :-) Very sweet moment captured and so very well processed!

With the wind so strong
you wonder why Cardinal
isn’t blown away!

Red bridge to somewhere!

So adorable! Do you think he's cold? He seems very placid to me, just patiently waiting for spring to arrive. Lovely!

HAHAHAHAHAHA! This photo made me laugh out loud, I love it! He actually looks flustered to me, like he is probably in a hurry and about to be late for a very important appointment! :o)

This Cardinal is beautiful, Kerri.
You can never post too many of them for me, we don't have them here in Ireland, and I'm always aws-struck at their beauty and vibrant colour.
Thanks for sharing, I'll go visit your shop now.

This is an outstanding capture!!!

I used a male Cardinal for Ruby Tuesday on my Misty's Words blog too. However, it doesn't come close to comparing to this awesome image.

Oh it makes him look so fluffy. Cardinals are difficult to photograph.. that bright red tends to bleed some. Yours is just perfect!

You certainly did capture the "wind blown" moment! It's always a bonus when we can catch an unusual pose.

These poor little birds of ours are just hanging on for dear life in order to have a decent meal. The weather is bitter lately.

I hope your parents are okay Kerri. Everyday with them certainly is a blessing.

I love the cardinal anytime but especially in winter. They stand out so beautifully.
Lovely shot!

I love cardinals. I almost think they are my favorite because of their color. This little fellow looks so sweet.

Always a blessing to spend time with your parents. I pray your visits are a blessing to them as well. Take care.

Such a happy-making photo! We don't see cardinals here in our garden, so I really love seeing other gardeners showing off photos of them.

Love the cardinal. Marilyn Cardinal is what I've named it. Those cardinals are striking in any season.

So this is Marilyn Monroe in red? Cute! It definitely looks fluffed up. The red is so bright at this time of year.

You're right: It just about impossible to pass up a Cardinal shot when one presents itself -- and this is another great one.
