Fantastic shot kerri. You can even see a drop of nectar on her proboscis. You need to be quick on the draw to get a shot like this fine photo.
Honeybees are actually kind of cute when you can see them up close ~ I'm not too keen on wasps though! I was bitten by one two summers in a row ~ not fun!!

How very true that when we put the camera in front of our eye, suddenly everything is of interest and we aren't as afraid or grossed out by things that we used to be! Great shot of the bee!
I was thinking honey bee too. Mostly by the golden honey color of the body.
I shot bee's sometimes too but I'm still not thrilled with them. Most of the time they just want whats in the flower, not behind the camera ; )

I used to be afraid of bees too! I stepped on a yellow jackets' nest when I was young, and that instilled the fear. I've been working on overcoming the fear though, and you are right that photography really helps!
