Very Small in a Big World

Go out, go out I beg of you
And taste the beauty of the wild.
Behold the miracle of the earth
With all the wonder of a child.
- Edna Jaques

A Scorpion Fly peeking out at me behind some blades of grass. When I see this I think of what a tiny creature he is in such a great big world.
Sometimes I feel like this Scorpion Fly.

Good morning Kerri, this is a lovely photo. When I look at this little guy I think how wonderful nature is. I also go back to when my son graduation from high school, so many mixed emotions at the time. Pride number one of course, but a little tinge of sadness because I knew he had grown up all too fast. Enjoy the moment :) Sorry for the deletion, really shouldn't press the send button before I read through what I had written.

I had to peek in at him! I think the same thoughts, and with that comes the others of my littlest beginning Kindergarten in the Fall ♥

Beautiful photo, Kerri.
This photo, coupled with your writing, makes me think that this little guy probably doesn't realise how little he is, and how big the leaf is.
And sometimes, we're better off to have it that way, because if we did realise, we might be disheartened. But life is one step at a time, no matter how big or small you are.

Oh, a marker for you as well as for your daughter! Good and bad, life goes on, but I understand your musings - that's only normal:)

Lovely patterns on this one Kerri, and very interesting with that little fly peeking out from behind. Congratulations on your granddaughter's graduation - must be a real proud moment!

I think there is so much beauty on earth when I look at this little creature. <3

Well, since his very scary looking tail is not visible, I'd think initially that he was almost cute!

He. Is. ADORABLE!!!

He makes me think of how vulnerable we all really are on the earth. We're all that wee tiny in terms of the grandiose planet and we could get squished pretty easy. Kind of makes the "small stuff" of life fade in to the background, you know?

Great shot as always!
