My Little Green Friend

During our 2010 vacation, I made the acquaintance of this little guy. He is known as a Carolina Anole or a Green Anole. At first I thought maybe he was scared and that is why he has the enlarged red throat. During my research I found that the enlarged red dewlap is also a courting gesture.
Maybe he was flirting with me :)
It was a real treat to see this little guy!!

You. Are. Amazing.

And I see you have a way with the amphibian crowd. If this is an amphibian.

Guess what? I just ordered the Nikon 70-300mm. B&H had a sale for affiliates and I used my gift card that I won on PW's site to pay for it. Yay!!

The detail in that photo is amazing, Kerri. I love how you learned what the red throat means. Mother Nature sure does know what she's doing, doesn't she?

Congratulations on being one of Hilary's POTWs! Well deserved.

Perhaps he should be called the Casanova Lizard, seeing as he was trying to catch your eye :-) Congratulations on the post of the week mention over at Hilary's blog. Quite honestly this photograph could fit quite well in a magazine featuring nature photos, and I mean that as a compliment. It's lovely work. He seems so very alive.

My boys had some anole's before we switched to the Leopard Geckos. I've come to love the lizards! (did I really say that???) But they do have cute little faces!
