Feasting at the Suet

To see more Ruby Tuesday Reds visit: Mary at Work of the Poet
One of my many blessings are the birds that visit my feeders. This is a Male Downy Woodpecker. He has such a vibrant spot of Red on his head!

  2. Lovely. He's a bit like our Lesser Spotted Woodpecker here in the UK. Or is it Great Spotted Woodpecker? I never can remember :-)

  7. Brilliant capture. We have several varieties that will be visiting my feeders soon. I let them forage for themselves through the spring and summer. Then I start filling the feeders in early to mid-November. Great Ruby Tuesday post.

  14. Downey woodpeckers are so colorful and makes me excited when seeing them at the bird feeders. They just go about their business getting their own food and leaves all the other birds alone.
ta ta for now from Iowa....26 degrees , cloudy and windy.. Great day for sitting in the house and watching the birds at the feeders.

  21. Our woodpeckers have been going after the suet cakes too. I like the quote--trying to ignore a nasty email I got from someone today. Hard to do but looking at your blog helps!
