I'm not a doctor and I don't know the technical terminology, but I do know that sunshine activates our happiness glands.

I know that sunshine activates my happiness glands! One sunny day was spent walking around one of my favorite places, Bisset Park in Radford, VA. That's where I saw my first MINK! At first I thought it was a river otter but when I researched it further I realized it was a Mink
~ What a wonderful day ~

A couple of comments; my first mink was last year and all that I got was a long, black blur. How exciting it is that you got this shot.
The second comment is that sunshine stimulates the pineal gland. Also sunshine on the skin is good for the thyroid. Many people that get suckered into taking anti-depresents are actually chronically sunlight starved.
Wasn't it just glorious? It was 68 here... no kidding! Love your little mink!
Very cute ~ what a fun surprise to be greeted by during your walk through the park. So sweet!
Happy Sunday Kerri!

Wow! that's a beautiful animal! Sunshine and 50 degrees!! It's snowing and no sunshine here in upstate NY!! Maybe I'll come visit my sister in Roanoke so I can walk in the sunshine!! (<:
A beautiful, rich mahogany fur, delightful creature.
Great photo and quote, sunshine and happy glands!
I agree about the sunshine! It was beautiful here this weekend too :) Another fabulous shot my friend!
I sure wish you would send some of that nice weather my way! LOL At least we are seeing a bit of sun today, but it's cold!
That is one awesome photo!!! Thanks so much for sharing it!
Kerri, what a cutie and great sighting!
Excitement! Not only for the sunshine but to actually capture a mink on {film}. Go you!
very nice!
wow great !! Wish I could see one - they are so nice !
The first time I saw one it was running right at me. I froze in my tracks not knowing what it was. It got to within 10 feet of me and I was just about to climb a tree or jump into the creek when it darted head-first into a hole in the creek bank. Whew. It was furry and cute. But it scared the pants off me. Looked like a fuzzy snake with legs. ;)
You captured a great image of this one.Wishing you more sunny, happy days.

A mink in the Wild - how special that you saw it!
Oooo! I expected to see birds and instead I got mink! And why not! I deserve it!! ^_^ Just joking...I'm so glad you had some nice weather today. We have 2 storms coming, back to back, early next week. Snow and ice! I'm so glad I'll be able to stop by here for some sunshine! :-)
Wonderful blog, great photographic work.
Omigosh, that is AMAZING!
Your title made me smile!
Congrats on finding this little guy.
I've not seen one in the wild - glad you were able to capture him so nicely!
Wow...what a find! I've never seen a mink that wasn't a coat :-) Beautiful creature and so curious looking.
