Wings and Berries

This little chickadee followed me along a trail I walked. I think he was looking for a handout. I have had them feed from my hand but didn't have anything on that day.

Did you ever see an unhappy horse? Did you ever see a bird that had the blues? One reason why birds and horses are not unhappy is because they are not trying to impress other birds and horses.

What a fuzzy little Chickadee! So adorable. To bad you didn't have any seed with you.

Love the saying. So true!

Chickadees really are friendly little birds! I have a friend who claims the ones in his yard chatter to him when the seed in his feeder run out. And one actually landed on his hat one day as he refilled it.

These are the cutie pies of my mom's bird feeders. I have not been successful in getting a decent picture of them yet. The lighting never seems to be right to capture their eyes. You did a great job on this one so I'll just admire yours!

One year I put a lawn chair out by the bird feeder ~ put a green poncho on and a straw hat with a brim..Put bird seed in the hat brim and some on my lap on top of the poncho. Then I just sat very still.. The birds came ~ they sat on my head and sat on my lap.. I was in bird heaven~~~and I had to be very careful to not get too excited~! I could feel them pecking the seed on my hat and I could see them eating the seed that was on my lap.. This was a great day for looking birds up close..
You might try this, except you would have to have someone take your picture from afar..I just have the memories in my mind..
Great pictures~ good job~!

Wow. I've noticed the little Carolina chickadee in our yard is the bravest of the brave--always bleeping away from the closest branch waiting for me to refill the feeder. LOL! Great shot.

Oh how beautiful he is! Chickadees are one of my favorites! I saw a few on a walk awhile back, but I just couldn't capture them on camera. This is a wonderful photo! Theresa

You made my morning. Thank you.
I have so many chickadees that come to the seed I put on a little bench in my yard starting just a few weeks ago. It's just such a simple pleasure.
