Lots of Legs

It used to be that creatures like this would creep me out. Now I just find them quite fascinating. Not sure of the ID on this guy - some type of centipede maybe?
Discovered 06-05-10 on a morning walk at Gateway Trail - Blacksburg, Virginia
Me thinks that the moment my legs begin to move, my thoughts begin to flow.

  2. Funny that you used to be creeped out and now fascinated. I wonder if I would ever have that transformation about mice/rats? Doubt it!
Anyway, he IS a fascinating creature, the detail on one so small is brilliant.
And the quote made me smile. Thanks for sharing both, Kerri.

  3. Love the things we learn when we can see so up close with our cameras! Sorry to have been missing in action for so long. It has been a rough couple of months. I've lots to catch up on I see!

  8. Yikes! I used to hate creepy crawly things and still do, but I love looking at them through the camera lens.

  9. Kerri, this is a Millipede - Very common in South Africa especially when it rains. Check this out I found online : http://www.focusonpictures.com/zuidafrika/insectplus/insect5.htm
