Skipper Butterfly - A Summer Treasure

Few are those who see with their own eyes and feel with their own hearts.
~Albert Einstein
This is a skipper from a few years back. For me - skippers are the HARDEST butterflies to ID - LOTS of them look quite the same. To be honest - before I started "seeing" more with the camera I didn't even notice these little guys, much less realize that they were butterflies. Click HERE for some more info on the Skipper Butterfly.

  1. Kerri,
This is a Sachem learn this one and half the battle is over. When we bring beginners on butterfly counts they ask over and over what is this one. It is usually another Sachem.

  2. We had one that looked just like that on our door yesterday, but since you say they're hard to ID I don't know if it really was or not.
