A close up of the Great Blue Heron walking up the tree branch

A view with the GBH and the tree.
There is no one giant step that does it. It’s a lot of little steps.

These are amazing, Kerri! The blue sky just sets that guy off so beautifully!
Kerri, I lived above a pond for 10 years, a pond where so many herons came and I have never seen a great blue walk along a tree branch like this. Oh, I'm sure they do it all the time. But I'd never seen it until now. Oh, my gosh!
A beautiful creature! Amazing shots.
i dream about taking pictures like this.
gorgeous heron against that striking blue sky!!
I didn't even realize that herons spent time in trees. Always thought they were strictly air and land/pond birds. Learn something new each day. :-) Great photos!!
Wonderful capture Kerri - looks like you had the perfect exposure to capture all the colors and detail wonderfully
Oh no fair! I posted herons yesterday and they were just too far away. Now you have this beautiful shot and I have heron envy. Very very nice.

Terrific image, Kerri! Love the angle. The heron looks especially beautiful against the deep blue sky. As always, a pleasure to view your outstanding photographs!
