This bird is beautiful when the sun is shining on it.
Beautiful bird and I love the coloring. I don't think I've seen one like this before. I think s/he is posing for you.
His blue and brown look very pretty together!

Awesome shot of the Cowbird, Kerri!
We get these birds at our feeders in the summer months. We always scare them off. Cowbirds are nasty birds.
"This bird is a brood parasite: it lays its eggs in the nests of other small passerines (perching birds), particularly those that build cup-like nests. The Brown-headed Cowbird eggs have been documented in nests of at least 220 host species, including hummingbirds and raptors.[5][6] The young cowbird is fed by the host parents at the expense of their own young. Brown-headed Cowbird females can lay 36 eggs in a season. More than 140 different species of birds are known to have raised young cowbirds" From Wikipedia. Have known this fact for years.
Oh my! He has every reason to show off those colors!
This may be a nuisance bird, but you have shown us that it is also very beautiful. I love the bokeh.
This just proves that a bird need not be rare or even nice to be an object of beauty. Very nice pose and exposure.
Such wonderful photos of the woodpecker and the cow bird!
Last summer a little momma junco was hounded by two giant cowbird babies to "feed me, feed me". She was exhausted trying to keep them satiated. Poor little thing!
Wow, this is a fabulous photo of a gorgeous bird.
Wonderful capture and beautiful bokeh. I love their lovely liquid like sounds.
Terrific shot of this handsome dude!
What a hansome guy, a terrific capture!
Aren't cowbirds the ones that bob their heads when they walk? I see them as a pair every once in awhile in my yard.
Great photo of this bird. It is new for me!
a great shot, amazing colour
Beautiful colors on that bird - great photo.
Wow Kerri, such a beautiful shot!
I do think the cowbird is a lovely one but too many at the feeder and my others birds are without much to eat. :)
I haven't seen any since fall.
what a great shot! really awesome background to offset his beauty!
You've caught him beautifully Kerri.
beautiful bird and new to me. love the color combo. did follow to wiki and did a little reading. interesting.
Stupendous! There, I've thought of another adjective. : )
A beautiful photo! Most people don't think of them as pretty, but in the right light...
Wow, what a gorgeous shot!
Thats a great looking bird - shows you dont have to be all kinds of colours to look good. Do these birds lay there eggs in other birds nests?
Cheers and thanks for linking to WBW.

Me again - I should have clicked the wikipedia link! Yes, they do!
A lovely picture of a bird that is not my favorite bird! They just make me mad when they get other birds to hatch and raise their young... especially when I actually catch them in the act of throwing out the surrogate's eggs!
STUNNING!
Lovely bird, i am seeing it for the first time.
Very nice photograph of a bird with a not-so-nice reputation! He looks good dressed up and in the right light. Good job!
