That man is happiest who lives from day to day and asks no more, garnering the simple goodness of a life. ~EuripidesAnother one from the archives ~ A Snout Butterfly from last year. 2010 was the first year I had ever seen these butterflies. This looks more like a Southern Snout to me because it is paler - but I am not sure.
Another gorgeous photo! I love the quotes you find too! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLovely picture. It makes me long for warmer days and butterflies.
ReplyDeleteIncredible! I've never heard of these .. so very cool.
ReplyDeleteSimply stunning! Love the quote too :)

A fascinating creature!
ReplyDeleteLook at those "button" eyes! Amazing!
ReplyDeleteHi Kerri, This is such an interesting photo. I see that in Stacey's comment she noticed the eyes. I don't think I've ever seen an eye on an insect quite like that. The detail is amazing. As always, I love the thought that you have chosen. Thank you Kerri! John
ReplyDeleteWhat a unique looking creature! I wonder what it sees thru those "grates".
ReplyDeleteHi Kerri..Odd looking he is ..never heard of one,but thanks to you I have now. : }}
ReplyDeleteVery nice you photo!!
Wow, what a shot. That is incredible.
ReplyDeleteOh, my gosh - what a SNOUT! It looks like a butterfly that wants to be an anteater. Great Kerri!
ReplyDeleteNice shot! Hope your weather is better than ours a little further down 81 from you. I'd already had enough of snow for this year and wasn't thrilled to see more falling this morning. At least it's mostly melted now.
ReplyDeleteIncredible macro shot! One word -- perfection!
ReplyDeleteFabulous colors, details, and bokeh. The simple wonders are truly the best.
ReplyDeleteWonderful clarity. Thoughts of butterflies making me long for warmer weather...
ReplyDeleteAh, to garner the goodness and leave it be. That is to live. Beautiful post.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots of the muskrat, butterfly and turtle. How exciting to get such a great picture of his head "peeking" through the grass. I have a park I take walks in and there are several lakes there. I always love to see the multitude of turtles "lounging" on a log in the sun. I love the "the only real voyage" quote too. Mickie :)
ReplyDeleteWow! That's a wonderful shot. Great nature capture. What kind of butterfly is it?
ReplyDeleteOkay, pardon me, I do see that you said 'Snout butterfly.' I've never seen one either. Very interesting!
ReplyDeleteLove seeing this up close. Thanks for sharing the name, too. I don't think I've ever seen one.
ReplyDeleteMy what a long nose, lol. Wonderful capture!
ReplyDeleteDynamite photo, Kerri!
