Black Vulture - Caught in Mid Flap

Let us not look back in anger, nor forward in fear, but around in awareness.

Many times I hear these creatures before I see them. Their wings make a type of "woosh, woosh" sound as they fly overhead. Quite a thrill to hear!

  9. Excellent capture. For big, ugly birds they sure are graceful in flight! A couple of them are circling over the ridge outside my window as i type.

  12. Fantastic capture! The detail of the in-flight image is wonderful. I have seen a lot of vultures in our area lately but they rarely get so low that I am able to hear the flap of their wings. Cool!
