Wednesday

Similar but Different

Both of these are birds (of course), both are females and both are woodpeckers.   The one of the left is a Downy Woodpecker and on the right is a Red-bellied Woodpecker -
and they both LOVE the Suet on Snowy days!

Share our similarities, celebrate our differences.

The Downy Woodpecker looks really cute, but I like the other one too.

Love the picture.
I can imagine the one saying, "Hey, what are you doing here?"

The downy is the smallest of the woodpecker family, isn't she? The hairy is just a little bigger. Good capture with the both of them together!

For two woodpeckers - they are completely different - but both some of my favorite feeder birds. :)

With the cold this week, we saw 3 different woodpeckers: Downey, yellow bellied, and red headed. Not at the same time though.
