Watching The Birds

Mockingbird

Rules the Roost

Goldfinch on the "finch sock" filled with Nyger Seed

Male Cardinal stops for a Drink

Cardinal....After the drink :)
All of these were taken thru the sliding glass door that leads
onto our deck - so there may be a little distortion.

When was the last time you spent a quiet moment just doing nothing - just sitting and looking at the sea, or watching the wind blowing the tree limbs, or waves rippling on a pond, a flickering candle or children playing in the park?

I haven't seen these birds in my neck of the woods. Now that I have a new camera that zooms better, I am trying to get shots of visitors to my yard. I love birds and enjoy the pictures you take of yours.

Love the cardinal pictures. I rarely see a cardinal on my deck feeders. When I do, they are gone before I can even find my camera. They are so gorgeous!!!

Gosh, your bird photos are amazing. So pretty and so clear too. It makes me think I'm going to have to hang a bird feeder up on my balcony and see what sort of feathered friends I can come up with...

Wow, how nice to have these birds come for a visit. You must have some lovely flowers or trees to attract them.

Even through the sliding glass door, you got some good photos! Yes, those Mockingbirds are full of themselves :o)

We have mocking birds here, but no Cardinals. Be nice to have some really colorful birds instead of just a bunch of brown ones. LOL!

These are stunning shots, and to think you were behind glass.. excellent captures Kerri.

Kerri,
All good shots but the mocking bird is my fav!

You should begin seeing your spring and summer birds beginning to arrive soon. We had a large flock of robins here saturday morning.

One word - superb.

June asks "Were you on a tripod?"
That would not only be a good balancing act, but painful :)

Wow, Kerri, what great images. I wish we had cardinals in the UK!

Actually all of the photos are very nice. And, I must say that I take most of my photos through the office windows which is thermal pane glass. I am not able to tell the difference if everything else is equal.

Thanks for your visit.

No distortion to be seen. They were excellent, especially the red cardinal (which I don't think we have around here).

Gosh Kerri, you photos are beautiful...even thru the glass. The red is so vivid! I've posted from my kitchen window and didn't get anything near as sharp.

I'd rather have these birds in my yard than hokie birds, anyday.

Wow! Terrific pictures! Your windows are cleaner than mine. ;-) The birds won't touch my thistle sock.

I've never seen a finch sock. Kind of cute. Can you imagine never seeing a cardinal? I have one here who has a lot of albino in her. She's fast though and I can never get a picture of her.

Dragonstar said...

Those cardinal pictures are simply stunning! You must have incredibly clean glass in that door.

Dick said...

Great, I can't imagine having such beautiful birds in my (small)garden.

Tom said...

Me again Kerri..
The bottom picture of the cardinal is one of the nicest I've ever seen.. would you mind if I saved it to my harddrice and used it as my desktop picture? I'd rather ask you know.

Heres hoping
Tom ;o)
