Coralberry Also Known As Indian Currant

“There is no end to education.... The whole of life, from the moment you are born to the moment you die, is a process of learning.”
— Jiddu Krishnamurti

I've been using Google Lens to help me identify some of the plants I've been finding along my walks.  This one is called Coralberry also known as Indian Currant.

Eastern Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly in the Ironweed

“True beauty is a ray That springs from the sacred depths of the soul, and illuminates the body, just as life springs from the kernel of a stone and gives colour and scent to a flower.”

Viceroy Butterfly and Friend

“Worrying does not accomplish anything. Even if you worry twenty times more, it will not change the situation of the world. In fact, your anxiety will only make things worse. Even though things are not as we would like, we can still be content, knowing we are trying our best and will continue to do so."
- Thich Nhat Hanh

A Magical Place along the Huckleberry Trail
in Blacksburg, Virginia.
Jim had actually discovered it on one of his bike rides and told me about it. It is near one of my walking trails, but on the other side of the road. It is part of the new portion of the Huckleberry Trail that links the trail to Glade Road and crosses a wetland area.
Many more visits are in my future!

Butterfly of Blue ~ Leaves of Green

  Expectant of greater things,
We try climbing -
Higher
And Higher;
An effort that costs us much,
Leaving us short of breath
To find only
The ground below is much prettier.

Content with Silence

When words become unclear, I shall focus with photographs. When images become inadequate, I shall be content with silence.

Elusive Moments

The more we try to catch hold of the present moment the more elusive it becomes. It is like trying to clutch water in ones hands. The harder we grip, the more it slips through our fingers.
~ Alan Watts

One of the most elusive birds I have encountered - a Brown Creeper.  They flit here and there - never in one spot very long - AND - they blend in with the trees.
They have GREAT Camo!

Don't Forget The Flowers

Stretching his hand up to reach the stars, too often man forgets the flowers at his feet.
 ― Jeremy Bentham

Along the Huckleberry Trail

Each day as a set out on my walks I ask myself "what amazing thing will I find today?" It may be at the beginning of each walk, in the middle or at the end, but I do find something amazing each time. On this day it was this Eastern Towhee. I heard him WAY before I saw him and slowly approached. He sat there and "called" for several minutes ~ I think there might have been a Mrs. Towhee near by. Sometimes all we have to do is slow down or stop .... and listen to the world around us ~ Amazing things WILL happen.
