if we can be peaceful and happy,
not only we, but everyone will profit from it.
This is the most basic kind of peace work."

Blue Jay on a Foggy Morning

In nature, everything has a job. The job of the fog is to beautify further the existing beauties!
 ― Mehmet Murat ildan

We get a lot of fog where I live.  There are frequent dense fog advisories  and many times I look out and can't see much across the road.  This was one of those mornings.  When my husband moved here from New York he commented that he had never lived in an area that had so much fog - and he's lived in a lot of  places.   I LOVE Fog.  It gives everything such a dreamy look.

Sunrise Greetings

How glorious a greeting the sun gives the mountains!
~ John Muir
This image does not do justice to this beautiful sight as the sun was coming up over the trees.  There was a light fog sitting in the valley and the entire scene was an amazing sight to behold.

Autumn
Pandapas Pond - Blacksburg Virginia
(top and bottom)

THERE is something in the autumn that is native to my blood—
Touch of manner, hint of mood;
 And my heart is like a rhyme,
 With the yellow and the purple and the crimson keeping time.
 ― Bliss Carman
